Notes on the Apostolic Vicariate of Queensland [for the Aborigines], 1887-1933
In the course of the years there arose in the Australian dioceses missions with special jurisdiction for the indigenous inhabitants, such as:
- The Prefecture Apostolic "Mission to the Aborigines" in the Archdiocese of Sydney (1842-1847).
- The Vicariate Apostolic of Queensland for the aborigines (1887-1933); this vicariate was never formally erected and the name has been omitted from the official Annuario Pontificio since 1933.
