Chronology of Catholic Dioceses:Notes on the Armenian Catholic Diocese / Eparchy of Adana 1774 - 1827
The date of erection of the Armenian diocese of Adana in the Ottoman Empire (today: Turkey) is unclear. The Annuario Pontificio of 1913 states that it was erected in 1827. But later, like in 1971, the Annuario Pontificio states that it was "restored" in 1774. Until the matter is clarified, we go with the newer source, under the presumption that the change in Annuario Pontificio is due to keen research of the matter.
