Chronology of Catholic Dioceses:Notes on the beginnings of the diocese of Conimbriga / Aeminium / Coimbra
During the Visigothic period in today's Portugal, Conimbriga was one of five new dioceses being created. Conimbriga is today Condeixa-a-Velha. The see, and the name of the place, were moved to Aeminium (today Coimbra) during the last quarter of the 6th century.
