FACADE OF ST. PETER'S BASILICA TO BE RESTORED

VATICAN CITY, FEB 24, 1997 (VIS) - On Thursday, February 27 at 11:30 a.m. in the Holy See Press Office, Cardinal Virgilio Noe, archpriest of the patriarchal Vatican basilica and president of St. Peter's Fabric, will present a project for the restoration and preservation of the facade of St. Peter's, and for the structural and ecological monitoring of the basilica.

The work will be done by St. Peter's Fabric, with the scientific and technological support of Italy's ENI (National Hydrocarbon Agency). The cardinal will be joined by Pierluigi Silvan of St. Peter's Fabric and by three officials from ENI.
