HOLY SEE PRESS OFFICE ON MADONNA OF CIVITAVECCHIA

VATICAN CITY, FEB 6, 1997 (VIS) - In answer to journalists' questions today concerning facts relative to the Madonna of Civitavecchia, a port city near Rome where a statue of the Virgin has allegedly shed tears of blood, Holy See Press office Director Joaquin Navarro-Valls stated: "There is no imminent pronouncement from the diocese of Civitavecchia on these facts. The question is still being studied."
