There is an uncertainty as to the status of the islands of Trinidad and Tobago after 1650. We presume they devolved to Puerto Rico - and later to Santo Tomás de Guayana - as there are sources indicating that they were withdrawn from Santo Tomás de Guayana in 1818. But help to ascertain what happened would be appreciated.
